About the Monospace Style

Monospace characters give every letter identical width, the way a typewriter or a code editor does. Unicode includes them in the mathematical alphanumerics range so that code can be quoted inside mathematical text without changing font.

The practical appeal is that monospaced text reads as technical and deliberate. It is a common choice for developer bios, and it stands out in a feed precisely because it looks like it was not styled at all.

One thing it does not do: create actual aligned columns. The characters are monospaced in a well-designed font, but many platforms substitute glyphs from whatever font happens to have them, and the widths stop matching. If you need a real table in a bio, this will not hold it together.

Unlike most styled alphabets, monospace includes a complete digit set, so names with numbers stay visually consistent.
