YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world. Its ranking depends heavily on matching the words in your title against what people type into the search box. If your title reads 𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓬𝓻𝓪𝓯𝓽 𝓽𝓾𝓽𝓸𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓵, then as far as the index is concerned it does not contain the word minecraft at all. Nobody searching for that will find you.

The same applies to closed captions matching, suggested-video relevance, and Google's video results. A styled title is visually distinctive to the handful of people already looking at it, and invisible to everyone else.

Use plain titles. Put the personality in the thumbnail, which is where it actually competes for attention.

Description Dividers That Do Work

Descriptions are long and get skimmed. Symbol dividers between sections genuinely improve readability, and since the surrounding text stays plain, you lose no search signal:

Channel Name Rules

• Channel name — up to 100 characters, Unicode accepted, changeable up to three times in 14 days
• Handle — 3 to 30 characters, letters, numbers, periods, underscores and hyphens only
• Impersonation — copying another channel's name and styling breaches YouTube's policies and can cost you the channel

A styled channel name is the safest place to use these fonts. It appears next to every video and comment you post, it is not what people search for, and one distinctive word is enough.
